The Kiss-Off(Book 1)

Sarah Billington
Genre: YA Contemporary
Buy at: Amazon

Synopsis:

WARNING: Sexual references, occassional coarse language.

When sixteen year old Poppy Douglas writes a song about her ex-boyfriend Cam and ex-friend Nikki, she has no idea that her heartbreak is about to go global.

A local band picks up her song from Youtube and soon she’s along for the ride with her own fanbase as they blow up on the local club scene and hit the international charts. Though it turns out leaving Cam behind isn’t as easy as she had hoped.

Tangled in a web of unfinished homework, ill-considered sexting and a new lead-singer boyfriend, Poppy has a choice to make between the ex that inspired it all and the rock God whose poster lines the inside of half the lockers at school. But as she struggles to keep her emotional dirty laundry private, she learns that the truth can be hard to find when your life is in the headlines.

The Kiss-Off 2:Over It (Book 2)

Sarah Billington
Genre: YA Contemporary

Synopsis:

Warning: Sexual References, occasional course language.

Teen Youtube song writing sensation Poppy Douglas's lead singer boyfriend Ty's been criss-crossing the country and living it up on tour for months while Poppy has been stuck in the boring suburbs, finishing out the school year.

But it's Summer now, and the best thing just happened: Poppy's royalties for writing the hit song The Kiss Off just came in.

She's minted, and she knows just what she's going to blow it on.

Ty's band Academy of Lies are headlining a summer music festival, and Poppy is taking her girlfriends along for the best weekend of their lives. It's all organized: the weekend is going to be full of camping under the stars, backstage passes, VIP rooms and partying like rock stars, not to mention some long awaited one-on-one time with America's favorite front man.

Except, when someone drops out of the trip and Poppy takes the opportunity to mend a broken friendship, it doesn't quite go according to plan.

And when she meets her boyfriend's BFF from another band, the paparazzi form their own totally wrong conclusions.

There's also the matter of Ty's 'super fan' stalker, but the less said about her the better.

The biggest test of all comes in the form of an opportunity too good to pass up. But will insecurities and jealousy stand in Poppy's way?
Can Poppy and Ty's relationship even survive it?

Life is about to get much more complicated for Poppy Douglas, but what can you expect when your boyfriend is a rock star?

So Many Reasons Why by Missy Johnson
Genre: NA contemporary romance
Released: March 8th, 2013
Publisher: BJJ Publishing
Pages: 175
Series: So Many Reasons Why #1
My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Synopsis:

Twenty year old Emma hasn’t left the house since she was attacked as a child. Now, with the impending release of her attacker from prison, Emma knows it’s more important than ever for her to regain control of her life. From her unrelenting nightmares, to her strained relationships, to her crippling agoraphobia, Emma feels as though her life is spiraling out of control.

When her professor, Simon Anderson enters her life, Emma must deal with feelings she has never experienced before.

Though both she and Simon know their relationship is bordering on inappropriate, neither of them are able to ignore the intense chemistry that is quickly developing between them.

What was supposed to keep her mind off the attack has left her more confused than ever. When there are so many reasons why you shouldn’t be together, is simply being in love really enough?

What I liked

I loved characters, especially Emma. I felt like the author really described Emma's emotions very well, and that's why I connected with her. Her relationship with Simon was for me a bit of a shock, because normally you would have 18 years old girl with 20 years old guy, but not 38 years old man (heh). However I think, that's what made this "stereotypical" story original.
There were also some very funny moments in the book, especially the e-mail part conversation. I couldn't stop giggling while reading it.
Lastly I cannot forget about the cover of this book, I think it's absolutely gorgeous.

What I didn't like

To be honest, I think the story was very predictable. I figured out almost whole plot within first few chapters. I would also say, that for me the book lacked more action.

Overall thought

So Many Reasons Why really reminded me Easy by Tammara Webber( which I absolutely love) and Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. I think this is ideal summer book. There's romance, drama, little bit of action, simply everything what you'd want in lightweight read.
I have to mention though that there is some sexual content ( only few chapters, lol).
Overall I liked the story, and I'm dying to know how will this story continue.

So Many Reasons Why (So Many Reasons, #1)I'd like to thank to Missy Johnson for gifting me this book in exchange for honest review

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Synopsis

Rescued by a stranger.
Haunted by a secret
Sometimes, love isn’t easy…

He watched her, but never knew her. Until thanks to a chance encounter, he became her savior…

The attraction between them was undeniable. Yet the past he’d worked so hard to overcome, and the future she’d put so much faith in, threatened to tear them apart.

Only together could they fight the pain and guilt, face the truth—and find the unexpected power of love.

A groundbreaking novel in the New Adult genre, Easy faces one girl's struggle to regain the trust she's lost, find the inner strength to fight back against an attacker, and accept the peace she finds in the arms of a secretive boy.

What I liked

Easy is very well written YA/contemporary book. The story line is beautiful as well. I also liked that characters were really complex.
Once you really dive into this story you won't be able to stop reading it. Intriguing, unexpected events, lovely moments, and sweet sweet Lucas made me fall in love with this book immediately. I was hooked up from chapter one. I can safely say this is one of my most favourite books.

What I didn't like

I have no idea why this section is even here. I honestly don't know what I could possibly dislike about this book.
Maybe only thing that I could mention is that I wish that the book was little longer, but that's just because I loved it so much.

“Love is not the absence of logic
but logic examined and recalculated
heated and curved to fit
inside the contours of the heart”
