Feature & Follow Friday #6
Q: Have you broken up with a series? If so which one and why
I've had several series that I didn't finish for some reason. The one that I've started recently though is Blood of Eden by Julie Kagawa. I'm not sure if I'm just too fed up with vampire stories, by this just didn't catch my attention enough. I might give a try to the second book though, just so I really make sure that the series isn't for me.
The second series that I want to mention is House of Night by P.C. Cast. I was reading this series when I was younger and I've read first four books in the series, but I just wasn't able to continue. It didn't entertain anymore as the first book did.

House of Night has definitely been a very very popular choice. I'm basically the only person who doesn't have that, even weirder, I've actually read all ten that are out. I totally see why people would get fed up with it but I thought that I'd already gotten so far, so may as well. New GFC follower! My FF can be found at my blog Music Plus Books.

My friend actually read all of them too :) I tried to start reading the fifth book again, but I just lost all my interest in that series I guess :p
DeleteHave a nice weekend too!
Following back ;)
Oh I tired to read that PC Cast series too! Completely forgot about that. I guess that shows how long ago that break up was!

I have never read House of Night (thankfully? haha!) although I have read The Immortal Rules. I'm a Julie Kagawa fan because I adored The Iron Fey, although Blood of Eden was quite bland and uneventful to me. I liked its sequel, The Eternity Cure, so much better than that one. Great picks though! New follower :)
ReplyDeleteI quit House of Night too after 2 books. I just read book 1 of Blood of Eden and I really liked it, I guess tastes differ :D PS: new follower on bloglovin!

HoN is mentioned on so many blogs today! And even if I didn't mention it in my own FF post I have to admit I haven't read the past few books either... I'm not sure we've broken up or not, but for the time being, I'm not reading those.
ReplyDeleteI love the Blood of Eden series, but if you're sick of vampires, I don't think you'll fall in love with it in the 2nd book...
Have a wonderful weekend!
Wow. I actually gave up on House of Night after book 1. I just didn't get into it all that well. And I love vampire stories, but that one just fell flat.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you give the Eternity Cure a try! I found The Immortal Rules to be a good read, if a little slow and dragging in some places, but The Eternity Cure seemed to pick it all up in my opinion! There was definitely a smoother and faster pace and the ending to that one was killer--like a cliffhanger that really killed me because I have to wait so long for the next one, especially since I read it as an ARC!
Here's my Follow Friday
Have a GREAT weekend!

ReplyDeleteI guess I will definitely be putting HoN series on my Never-to-Read shelf after this week! lol Everyone it seems has given up on it! And I love Julia's Iron Fey series, but like you I'm kind of fed up with vampire stories so decided to put it off!
